These terms cover your use of NameBento, a newsletter and website that publishes a small selection of domain names. By using the site or subscribing, you agree to them.

Who runs this

NameBento is published by Mehdi Amrane, sole trader (entrepreneur individuel), 254 rue Vendôme, 69003 Lyon, France. SIREN 839 341 872. Publication director: Mehdi Amrane. What NameBento does

We select domain names, write them up, and publish them here and by email. Each listing shows a fixed price. There are no auctions and no negotiation: the price shown is the price you pay.

How buying works

We sell the domains on this site ourselves, and your contract is with us. Payment is taken on a checkout page hosted by Stripe, our payment processor. They see your card details and we do not. We own every domain listed here before it is offered, and we transfer it to you after payment.

• Domains are sold first come, first served, and each one exists once. The checkout for a name closes automatically the moment someone completes a purchase.
• The price shown is the price you pay. It is fixed, in US dollars, and there is nothing added at checkout.
• Transfer. Domains are held in an account at the registrar Namecheap. Within 24 hours of payment we send a transfer invite to the email address you paid with; you accept it and the domain moves into your own Namecheap account, free and immediately. Creating an account, if you have none, is part of accepting and costs nothing.
• The invite is valid for seven days. If it lapses, tell us and we will send another. Until you accept, the domain is still ours and held off sale for you, and you may ask for a full refund at any point before then.
• Refunds. Before the transfer, ask and you get your money back, for any reason or none. After the transfer the domain is in your account and under your control, and we cannot take it back. If something goes wrong on our side, such as the wrong name, a transfer that fails, or a domain we could not deliver, you are refunded in full regardless.
• Yearly registration renewal is owed to your registrar after transfer and is not included in the listed price.

Right of withdrawal

A distance sale normally carries a fourteen-day right of withdrawal, exercisable without reason (article L221-18 of the French Code de la consommation).

Completing a purchase here requires you to waive it. Before payment you must tick a box confirming that you request immediate transfer of the domain, and that you understand the right of withdrawal ends once that transfer is done. These are the prior express consent and the acknowledgment required by article L221-28 13°. The box is not pre-ticked, payment cannot be completed without it, and we confirm it to you in writing afterwards.

The domain remains ours until you accept the transfer invite. Up to that point you may cancel for any reason and be refunded in full.

Your responsibility for the name

We own each domain and we pick it on how it reads as a name. We do not run trademark searches, and we make no claim that a name is free to use in your country or your sector. Before you build a business on one, clear it yourself, with a lawyer if the stakes warrant it. Descriptions, suggested uses and comparable names on this site are editorial opinion, not advice.

The newsletter

Subscribing is free. Every email carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately. We may change the sending schedule or stop publishing at any time.

Using the site

The text, layout and images on this site belong to us. You may read, quote and link to them. You may not scrape the site wholesale, republish listings as your own, or use automated means to place orders ahead of other readers.

Liability

The site is provided as it is. We are not liable for losses arising from a domain being sold before you reached it, or from a name turning out to be unsuitable for your purpose. Where we are at fault in a sale, our liability is limited to the price you paid for the domain. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under French law, including your rights as a consumer.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the date above shows the last change. These terms are governed by French law, and the courts of Lyon have jurisdiction, without prejudice to the protections you are entitled to as a consumer in your country of residence.
